This position is for a full-time PRA in the laboratory of Mia Smith, DVM, PhD, who studies the role of B lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes (T1D). This position involves coordinating prospective study participants, administrating consent forms, collecting blood samples from patients, isolating human cells from whole blood and tissue (e.g. spleen and lymph nodes), and subsequently analyzing the samples using basic and advanced immunological assays, such as spectral flow cytometry, mass cytometry (CyTOF), and cell processing for single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq).
