The major duties of the Social Scientist position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serves as national representative and point of contact for abandoned mineral land and oil and gas resource evaluation, management, recommendations, and documentation. Facilitates research, represents the NPS, and conducts outreach. Assists staff throughout the NPS.
- Project management: Develops and supports abandoned mineral land and oil and gas project plans, scopes of work, proposals, and funding.
